General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr. Bekir Şahin and Prosecutors of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr. Bülent Yenigün, Ms. Dr. İlknur Altuntaş and Ms. Neslihan Aslan participated in 5th Meeting of the Attorneys / Prosecutors General of the Economic Cooperation Organization which was held between 15-17 May 2024 in Dushanbe upon the official invitation of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Mr. Yusuf Rahmon.

Head of the Delegations were received by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Emomali Rahmon before the meeting which the General Prosecutors of Azerbaijan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Turkmenistan attended along with their delegations. During the meeting, Mr. Şahin made a presentation on "Important Directions of International Cooperation Between the Prosecutor’s Offices of the ECO Member States at the Modern Stage".

During the Meeting, Mr. Şahin held bilateral meeting with the Prosecutor General of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and also held quadruple meeting with Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Deputy Prosecutor General of Kyrgyz Republic. Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye in Dushanbe, Mr. Umut Acar accompanied the delegation during the ECO Meeting and the meetings held with the foreign delegations. Mr. Şahin and his delegation also visited the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dushanbe.

Within the scope of the visit, after the meeting held with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Tajikistan, Memorandum of Understanding was signed on 15 May 2024 in order to strengthen cooperation and share experiences between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Tajikistan and the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Türkiye.

Within the scope of the objectives of the establishment of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States, in order to strengthen the exchange of information and close cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Member States through regular meetings and joint trainings; Training Seminar for the Prosecutors of Member States of the Organization of Turkic States under the title of “Role of Prosecutors in Investigations/Prosecutions Regarding Human Rights Violations” was held by the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal on 7-8 May 2024 in Antalya. Twenty prosecutors from the Prosecutor General’s Offices of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus participated in the Seminar.

Within the scope of the Seminar, information was given about the Turkish judicial system by emphasizing the importance of developing cooperation mechanisms among the Prosecutor General's Offices of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States regarding combating human trafficking and crimes against humanity. Evaluations were made on the fact that the development of personal relations and communication network between colleagues will make a great contribution to strengthen mutual cooperation.

General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr. Bekir Şahin participated in the Training Seminar under the title of "Identifying Terrorist Cells, Neutralizing and Investigating Terrorist Crimes, Investigation and Prosecution of Terrorist Financing" held between 26 February – 1 March 2024 in Bulgaria upon the official invitation of Mr. Borislav Sarafov, Acting Prosecutor General of the Republic of Bulgaria. The delegation of General Prosecutor Mr. Şahin consisted of the Prosecutors at the General Prosecution Office Mr. Bahattin Azizağaoğlu, Mr. Mücahit Erdoğan, Ms. Fatma Özer, Mr. Mehmet Cebbar Ülgen, Mr. Aslan Uslu, Mr. Mehmet Cihan Kısa, Mr. Ahmed Hakan Özdemir, Mr. Sezer Söylemez, and Ms. Emine Koçak.
Within the scope of the program, Mr. Şahin, who delivered the opening speech of the Seminar, had meetings with the President of the Supreme Court of Cassation Ms. Galina Zaharova, Minister of Interior Mr. Kalin Stoyanov, Chairman of State Agency for National Security Mr. Plamen Tonchev, Head of Appellate Prosecutor’s Office Mr. Todor Deyanov, Head of District Prosecutor’s Office Ms. Vanya Hristeva, and Head of Regional Prosecutor’s Office Mr. Petar Petrov.

        Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Suud Bin Abdullah Almujib paid an official visit to Ankara between 20-23 February 2024 upon the invitation of the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr. Bekir Şahin. The accompanying delegation of Mr. Suud Bin Abdullah Almujib consisted of Member of the Public Prosecution's Council Mr. İbrahim Alfantokh, Head of International Cooperation Prosecution Mr. İsam Alosaimi, and Director of the General Department of Legal Affairs Mr. Suud Bin Libde.
        During the meetings held at the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal within the framework of the visit, information was given regarding the duties and powers of the General Prosecution Office; evaluations were made with regard to Memorandum of Understanding to be signed in order to strengthen the legal cooperation between two countries; and also, mutual opinions were exchanged regarding the Draft Establishment Document of the Islamic Countries Association of General Prosecutors.
        During the visit, Attorney General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mr. Suud Bin Abdullah Almujib had meetings with the President of the Supreme Court of Appeal Mr. Mehmet Akarca and the Minister of Justice Mr. Yılmaz Tunç.

“2^nd Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States”, which aims the establishment of a permanent consultation and working mechanism in order to develop and strengthen cooperation between the Prosecutors General Offices of the Organization of Turkic States was hosted by the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal between 22-26 October 2023 in Ankara.

Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Kamran Aliyev, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Berik Assylov, Attorney General of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Zulushev Kurmankul, Prosecutor General of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mr. Nigmatilla Yuldashev, Prosecutor General of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Mr. Sarper Altıncık, with the accompanying delegations consisting of prosecutors who are experts in their fields, as well as the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Mr. Kubanychbek Omuraliev, General Counsel of the International Association of Prosecutors, Ms. Shenaz Muzaffer, and Executive Director of the International Association of Prosecutors, Ms. Janne Holst Hübner, along with national and foreign participants attended the 2^nd Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States under the theme of “Legal Regulations and Country Practices on International Judicial Assistance & Challenges and Solutions”.

Organizing the 2^nd Meeting of the Council of Prosecutors General of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara has a historical importance as the year 2023, which is considered as the beginning of the Century of Türkiye, is the 100^th anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye.

During this important Meeting, the legal regulations of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States on international legal assistance, the challenges faced in practice and possible solutions within the framework of legal assistance were discussed and evaluated.
