Mr. Muhsin ŞENTÜRK, the Head of 3rd Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation, was selected as the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Court of Cassation with the Presidency’s decision dated 15.05.2024 and numbered 2024/119 among the candidates nominated by the Grand General Assembly of the Court of Cassation pursuant to the Article 154 of the Constitution and the Articles 30 and 32 of the Law of the Supreme Court of Appeal no. 2797.

Upon the retirement of Mr. İsmail Rüştü Cirit who was the First President of the Supreme Court of Appeal, due to the legal age limit on 23^rd March 2020, Mr. Mehmet Akarca who was the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal, was elected as the First President of  the Supreme Court of Appeal as a result of the election by the Grand General Assembly of the Supreme Court of Appeal on 24^th March 2020 pursuant to Article 154 of the Constitution and Articles 30 and 31of the Law of the Supreme Court of Appeal.

We congratulate Mr. Mehmet Akarca who has been reelected as the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal. We wish the best for our country, our nation and all judicial community during his second term.

Mr. Mehmet Akarca, the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal has been reelected by the President of the Republic of Turkey among the candidates elected by the General Assembly of the Supreme Court of Appeal in accordance with the Article 154 of the Constitution of the Republic of Turkey and Articles 30 and 32 of the Law on Supreme Court of Appeal numbered 2797.

The decision of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey dated 21 May 2019 and numbered 2019/30 was published in the Official Gazette dated 22 May 2019 and numbered 30781.
