The third online meeting which is the second of four separate activities envisaged to be carried out by the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal within the scope of our country’s 2020-2021 chairmanship term for the Southeast European Cooperation Process was held on “combating human trafficking and migrant smuggling” on 28 April 2021.
Prosecutors from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Greece participated in the meeting. Dr. Vehbi Kadri Kamer, Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey made a presentation. Mrs. Eliora Elezi, Prosecutor at the Prosecution of District of Kruja of Albania, Ms. Merisa Nurkic, Prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Mr. Ventsislav Ferdinandov, Prosecutor at the Specialized Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, Ms. Areti Skafida, Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Athens of Greece, Mr. Lampros Tsogkas, Deputy Prosecutor at the Court of Appeal of Thrace of Greece, Mr. Sergiu Russu, Prosecutor, Chief of the Unit for Combating Trafficking in Human Beings of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova, Mr. Adrian Petre Tudoran, Prosecutor at the Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism of Romania, Ms. Tamara Mirovic, Deputy Republic Public Prosecutor at the Republic Public Prosecutor’s Office of Republic of Serbia, Mr. Marko Milicevic, Advisor at the Republic Public Prosecutor's Office of Serbia attended the meeting.
During the meeting, legal regulations on human trafficking and migrant smuggling, the best practices, challenges faced in practice and solutions were evaluated by the participants.
