The International Association of Prosecutors (IAP) is the first and only international organization for all prosecutors around the world to which the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal is an institutional member since 2014. On the 21st and the 22nd of October 2021, the 26thGeneral Meeting of the International Association of Prosecutors was held as an online meeting. Dr. İlknur Altuntaş, Senior Prosecutor Responsible for International Relations, attended the meeting as the representative of the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
On the 21st of October 2021, during the IAP General Meeting,“the 10th Eastern European and Central Asia Regional Conference of the International Association of Prosecutors” was officially announced to be held in İstanbul in 2023.This was a proposal offered by the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal to the International Association of Prosecutors in May 2021. The proposal was accepted by the Executive Committee of the IAP on 20 October 2021 in St. Petersburg. The IAP Regional Conference has a historical importance for Turkey, as the 100th anniversary of the foundation of the Republic of Turkey will be celebrated in 2023. The theme of the 10th Regional Conference is “Effective Investigation in the Era of Digitalization”.

Click here for gallery...Within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the aim of strengthening the cooperation and sharing experience between the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan and the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey, the delegation of 11 prosecutors from the Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan that are headed by Mr. Dadaşov Fərid Zəmanioğlu, Head of Strategic Planning and Risk Identification Department of the Scientific-Educational Center of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan, are conducting a study visit in Turkey between 17-27 October 2021.
Within the framework of the above mentioned study visit, the delegation was received by Mr. Bekir Şahin, the General Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal on 18 October 2021 . During the meeting, presentations were made to the delegation and views were exchanged. The delegations visited Ankara West Courthouse and the campus of Sincan Penal Institution on 19 October 2021. It is planned that the delegation, who will be in Turkey for 10 days, will visit the Supreme Court of Appeal, Ankara Courthouse, Ankara Regional Court of Appeal and the Justice Academy of Turkey.

Mutual information and opinions were exchanged regarding the duties and powers of the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
