The second online meeting which is the second of four separate activities envisaged to be carried out by the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal within the scope of our country’s 2020-2021 chairmanship term for the Southeast European Cooperation Process was held on “the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the exercise of prosecution services” on 27 April 2021.

Prosecutors from Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Moldova, Romania, Serbia and Greece participated in the meeting. Ms. Canan Kaya, Prosecutor of the Supreme Court of Appeal of the Republic of Turkey made a presentation. Mrs. Dhorina Theodhori, Head of Prosecution Office of District of Korca of Albania, Mr. Mirza Hukeljic, Prosecutor at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Ms. Vanya Nestrova, Prosecutor at Analytical Department of the Supreme Cassation Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Bulgaria, Mr. Georgios Karatsalos, Deputy Prosecutor at the First Instance Court of Athens of Greece, Ms. Carolina Vicol, Prosecutor of the Department for International Cooperation and European Integration of the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Moldova, Ms. Katerina Kolarevikj, Public Prosecutor at the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office Skopje of North Macedonia, Mr. Romulus Varga, Prosecutor at the Prosecutor's Office Attached to the High Court of Cassation and Justice of Romania, Mr. Branislav Lepotic, Higher Public Prosecutor and Head of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Novi Sad of Serbia attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in the exercise of prosecution services, measures taken, and challenges faced in practice were evaluated by the participants.
