The cases sent for appellate review to the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal are examined by public prosecutors of the Supreme Court of Appeal and a legal opinion is prepared for each. The departments for criminal chambers transmit the files to the relevant Criminal Chambers of the Supreme Court of Appeal which decide and issue a writ on each file, and return to the General Prosecution Office; then it completes the process for cases and send them to the local court concerned.

The departments for criminal chambers of the General Prosecution Office of the Supreme Court of Appeal are structured to correspond to the Criminal Chambers of the Supreme Court of Appeal. The division of work among the Criminal Chambers is determined by the First Presidency of the Supreme Court of Appeal.
